About Us

Company President & Co-Founder

Our company was founded in 1982 and is still actively managed by our President and Chief, Gregory Molloy. Greg has a degree in Administration of Justice and over 40 years of Law Enforcement and Security Experience.

Greg is a Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Navy from 1970-74. He spent 20 years with the US Coast Guard Reserve as a Search & Rescue Coxswain, Federal Boarding Officer & Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He also worked for the US Marshal’s Office as a Special Deputy and for the past 32 years, Greg has been a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with Marin County. He also spent time volunteering with the Red Cross teaching CPR & First Aid.

Greg spent 10 years as a member of the Board of Managers with the Marin YMCA. He has aways been a selfless humanitarian and has a longstanding association with Rotary International. Greg has been instrumental in many of the projects, fundraising and good works Rotary is known for. He’s currently a member of The Rotary Club of Terra Linda and has been a Past Rotary President and a District Governor. Greg also holds the distinction of being recognized as a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow major donor.

Vice President

Marsha Molloy is Vice President of Bright Star Security, Inc. She has been involved from day one as our first Dispatcher then our Office Manager handling Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. She has over 40 years of banking, investment and business management experience. During her 20 years with Wells Fargo Bank, she worked in every facet of the banking world ending her career as an Assistant Branch Manager & Personal Banking Officer.

Marsha is a member of the Rotary Club of Novato, where she has served on the Board of Directors for several years. She is a Paul Harris Fellow and Major Donor to the Rotary Foundation. As a member of Mill Valley Order of the Eastern Star, she takes part in community services such as making pillows for Cancer patients and collecting supplies for our troops overseas. Marsha has been active at the Marin YMCA and the Novato School District and is Co-Captain of a team for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life held every year in San Rafael and Novato.  

Dennis R. Molloy – Sales & Co-Founder

Dennis R. Molloy brings 40 years of Sales and Small Business management experience to our organization.

Dennis R. Molloy brought many things to Bright Star Security including the name. Operation Bright Star was the first military operation Dennis was involved with when he was a member of the 101 st Airborne Division.

Dennis has many years experience in the retail business and insurance. He is well known in the real estate field as he had his own company as a real estate broker for 14 years in Marin County before Bright Star Security was born.

Cliff Barnett

Cliff Barnett

Cliff Barnett oversees all of our Field Services including Patrol, On Site, Dispatch & Training.

Cliff has extensive Law Enforcement Experience. He has worked at San Anselmo Police Dept., Twin Cities Police Dept., Suisun City Police Dept., & Rio Vista Police Dept., where he progressed through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant and Chief of Police.

He started working at Bright Star Security 33 years ago while working at San Anselmo PD. When he progressed in his Law Enforcement Career he kept in touch with us. After his retirement from Rio Vista PD, he joined our team in developing a better and higher level of service to our clients.
